For over 130 years, Danish Crown has stood for premium meat products, the highest of quality standards and a fully integrated value chain – from the farmer to the finished product. As one of the world’s largest exporters and a leading pork producer in Europe, the company continuously invests in state-of-the-art production sites and innovative technologies to meet increasing market requirements. With the new production site in Rochdale, UK, Danish Crown has expanded its capacities for bacon production and paved the way for further growth. The heart of the production facility: eleven highly automated lines from Weber that cover the entire process, from product preparation to precise slicing through to packaging, all from a single source. The result is maximum efficiency, minimal give-away values and a consistently high level of product quality. In our customer story, John Kelly, Site Operations Manager, and Kevin Brown, Factory Manager at Danish Crown, together with Rob Unwin, Managing Director of our partner Interfood, explain how Danish Crown sets new benchmarks in bacon production with state-of-the-art processing technology and what benefits the integrated line solution offers in everyday production.
