Ceremonial appointment on November 12, 2022.

Günther Weber appointed honorary citizen of Neubrandenburg.

At a ceremony in Neubrandenburg's Concert Church in November, Günther Weber was made an honorary citizen of the city of Neubrandenburg (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany). In the presence of around 800 guests, Mayor Silvio Witt thus honored Weber's extraordinary social commitment. "I feel this honor as a great thanks for my commitment to the people of this city and, of course, as a confirmation that we have not done everything wrong," explained Günther Weber, touched.

Since 1999, Weber Maschinenbau has been based in Neubrandenburg, which is now the second largest site within the Weber Group and one of Neubrandenburg's largest employers with around 450 employees. From the very beginning, Weber has been involved in a wide range of activities, from sports clubs and prevention projects at schools to the donation of the organ for Neubrandenburg's concert church. The sounds of the organ could be listened to during the festivities, because as a special surprise the Latvian organist Iveta Apkalna, a good friend of Weber, played some pieces of music. Günther Weber is the city's seventh honorary citizen – and the first entrepreneur to receive this honor, after six competitive athletes.
