Weber launches AI assistant.
The Weber Digital Factory Solutions including smart AI features support food-processing operations on their way to more efficient, more sustainable and more cost-effective production.
Weber's goal is to make our customers' lives easier by enabling them to optimally operate their systems throughout the entire life cycle. This is made possible for one at the equipment level through innovative and efficient line solutions. For another, digital products and services play an essential role as part of the integrative approach and all-round support for production operations, because the collection, analysis and use of production data offer enormous potential for food producers. This is why Weber has created Digital Factory Solutions, a platform that bundles all digital solutions in one sustainable ecosystem and allows them to be scaled to the increasing demands placed on production systems. The basis of the digital ecosystem is the Weber FactoryCockpit, which acts as a data center and offers the option of integrating other products for comprehensive digitalization. In addition, the Weber Portal provides customers with a quick and user-friendly introduction to the world of Weber through a wide range of information and services. All Weber machines come equipped with the necessary connectivity for the Digital Factory Solutions as standard.
FactoryCockpit: A central view of production.
With the Weber FactoryCockpit, all information such as production data, analyses, and reports are available 24/7, in real time and from anywhere, be it from the production floor, the shift supervisor's office, or during a planning meeting. At the heart of this digitalized production is a well-structured dashboard where the live status and all relevant performance and quality data are displayed line-by-line and in one overview – from giveaway and yield, to good production and packs per batch to availability. With the intuitive interface, the customer can access all the information they need quickly and effectively. Thanks to the real time data, operators can react very quickly to deviations which minimizes potential losses. To directly assess the current production situation and address potential production deviations, the dashboard displays the line status of the past eight hours. If required, a more detailed view of specific days and points in time is also possible. This provides a sound analysis of temporary error patterns and allows operators to identify the root causes. This data can also be used to determine targeted measures such as operator training to improve machine effectiveness long term. In order to make corrections in the production process as quickly as possible in case of undesired developments, individual alarms for different indicators such as yield can be set up. If one of the indicators drops below a certain value, a previously defined person is notified via SMS or e-mail. Customers can individually enter the critical factors and values, as well as the type of information. Reports and statistics also allow production data to be compared with average values of all previous batches and thus provide the basis for production optimization and production planning. To facilitate internal coordination with other departments or shift handover, the reports can be generated individually and printed as PDFs. All in all, the Weber FactoryCockpit provides maximum transparency and supports decision-makers and managers in food processing companies in quickly making the right call.
An enormous benefit of the Weber FactoryCockpit are the visualization and analyses of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Using the data from the end-of-line control scale, availability, performance, and quality are displayed as key indicators of a production line expressed in one meaningful value, all in real time and without manual operator entries. This lets operators assess the productivity of a system any time at one glance. Each individual aspect can be analyzed as needed. Apart from detailed storage of all production data, this also includes a graphic visualization with a trend curve. Moreover, it is possible to specifically evaluate certain shifts or production recipes. As one of the key indicators for evaluating the productivity of a production line, a specific OEE analysis can help to not only avoid production losses but also to tap into unused potential.
